Six Perfections is comprised of a set of banners made of stitched fabric and canvas, based on small paper collages made earlier. Each piece presents a figurative form linked to a title which offers meaning. The titles refer to states of mind and being in Buddhism: A Generous God; A Wise Animal; A Patient Ghost; A Tormented Being Making an Effort; An Ethical Human and A Demi-god Concentrating.

The work also pays homage to Indian fabrics and the art of tailoring.
The Banners were shown in two different locations in Bihar: Bodhgaya and Gaya and then in Melbourne in the exhibition ‘Stupa City’ at Nellie Castan Gallery.

This project is supported by the Commonwealth through the Australia-India Council, which is part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
